 Addis Bible College Program Schedule
Students are expected to rise early each morning before breakfast for personal prayer and devotions. Diligent intercessions are desired, but students are reminded not to disturb others by the volume of their prayers before 6 a.m.  Classrooms, the chapel, or the upper prayer room may be used for prayer.   Breakfast is served from 7 – 7:45 a.m. On holidays and weekends breakfast is served from 7 – 9 a.m.
The academic year begins the last week in August and finishes the last week of May (see pages 33-34).  There is a short vacation between semesters from mid-December to end-January and a long vacation from June to August.  National holidays are honored.  A calendar with the specific dates for the academic year is posted.
There are two semesters in each academic year.  Courses are offered during a semester as a two-week block session followed by a 15-week regular semester session.  The length of daily classes during the block sessions depends on the number of credit hours being earned.
During the regular semester, courses meet every other day.  A three-credit course will meet for three hours per week.  If the class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, it will convene for one hour each of these three days, and the period is labeled with a number (1, 2, 3).  If the class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the class will be for one and a half hours and is labeled with a letter (A, B, C).
Below you will find example schedules for a block session and for a regular semester session.  (The administration has the right to modify the block schedule if it is believed an adjustment will better serve the students).  There are two separate schedules for the regular semester: one for classes that meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF) and another for classes that meet on Tuesday and Thursday (T/Th).

Study Time
There is no set time when students are required to study. However, they are encouraged to study during the day, when they do not have classes and in the evenings after dinner.  The library and classrooms can be used for study until 10 p.m. (Monday – Friday).  One should plan to study at least two hours outside of class for every hour the class is in session.  Thus, for a course that meets for one hour, the student should spend a minimum of two hours in preparation before the class convenes.
Graduation Week
The week of graduation is a special time of celebration for all the students and especially for the graduating seniors. Graduation is the last Saturday in May.  On the Thursday of graduation week, various activities are conducted on campus.  All students are encouraged to attend.  Graduates are allowed to invite their spouse or a special guest to join them for the day at ABC.  Thursday afternoon is a special service honoring the graduates, followed by a feast.
